Just in time for the holidays, L.A.-based streetwear label HLZBLZ drops its “Watch and Learn” holiday line, a collection pays homage to the height of music video influence when “style cues were taken from artists who were products of culturally influenced fashion before the internet and the professional blogger. A golden age of the MTV generation, when music met television and youth subculture for an awe-inspiring unplugged spectacle starring headbangers and raps in the real world.”
Graphically the theme is best reflected by crew neck featuring an all-over print graphic paying tribute to ’90s r&b greats (like SWV) though mashed up with the era’s hardcore music movement with a font that looks like it was ripped straight out of a punk zine. There are also hoodies and joggers emblazoned with similar graphics and a patch-covered black nylon bomber. Now available for purchase.
Art direction by Lanie Albanaza-Barcena (who we did a q&a with last week) and photography by Lexis Rother. The model is Alexis MacKenzie.
