SKIMS CEO Kim Kardashian made an appearance at Kanye West‘s Donda listening party in Chicago on Friday (August 27, 2021) where she caused quite the stir when she walked out onto the field dressed in a Balenciaga wedding dress and stood before her husband, who wore a black leather fit by the same label. The “renewal” of their vows occurred during the show’s final, family-themed song, “No Child Left Behind.” The couple walked off the field together hand and hand and today Kardashian West followed up with Instagram images of herself on the field and with West backstage.
While she attended all three listening parties (wearing a outfit coordinating with West’s for the first two), initial reporting stated she did so only to support his endeavors and still plans to continue with divorce proceedings.
Now, however TMZ is reporting the couple is attempting to work things out. A source close to the couple told the publication, “There actually is a chance they could get back together. They’ve been spending time together privately and “working on rebuilding the foundation of their relationship.”
Meanwhile, Page Six is reporting that West is telling people they’re back together, but only as part of an effort to drum up publicity for his 10th studio album. According to a person described as a music insider, “Kanye has been telling other rappers that he and Kim are back together, but everybody knows that isn’t true. The real story is that Kanye wants to beat Drake in record sales, and he is putting on a big show of performance art to grab all the media attention.”
Two sources in the same article also noted the couple had ceased talking after Kardashian filed for divorce in February, but began talking again earlier this summer.
West was spotted spending a week in France with Irina Shayk in June and returned to New York with him on a private jet, but the relationship fizzled out in less than a month.
