SKIMS CEO Kim Kardashian paid of visit of the Today Show where she chatted up the launch of SKKN, a skincare line and also weighed in on the controversy over the Marilyn Monroe dress she wore to The Met Gala back in May.

Looking fab in a midriff-exposing, plain white t-shirt paired with red, white and blue Balenciaga leggings, Kardashian confirmed the dress worn by Monroe in 1962 to sing happy birthday to then president John F. Kenney suffered no damage.

Explaining she wore the dress for a total of just four minutes, Kardashian said she changed into the dress at the entry to the red carpet and changed out of it when she reached the top of the stairs.

On the 16 pounds she had to lose fit in the dress, Kardashian said, “I looked at it like a role and I really wanted to wear this dress,” adding, “I’m down 21 pounds now. I’m not trying to lose anymore weight, but I have more energy than ever. I cut out so much sugar. A lot of junk food I was eating, I didn’t even realize it, a lot of fried food, and I just really changed my lifestyle.”

The 41-year-old mogul also discussed her new relationship with Pete Davidson and noted she and her ex-husband Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) were in a good place. “It’s going good. We had Father’s Day at the house. The kids spent the day with him and then we had a big Father’s Day dinner and North cooked. Of course I wanted to honor and respect the amazing people and fathers, men in my life that have raised me and are raising my children. Everything’s going good,” she said.

Kardashian was responding to images of the Jean Louis-designed dress posted in mid-June on Instagram account @marilynmonroecollection showing two images of the back of the dress with the after image showing stretched out seams and missing crystals.

Shortly after the images were posted on Instagram, Ripley’s Believe or Not!, which owns the dress and lent it to Kardashian for the event, issued a press release stating the dress had not been damaged. “Kim Kardashian wearing the ‘Happy Birthday’ dress has been hotly contested, but the fact remains that she did not, in any way, damage the garment in the short amount of time it was worn at the Met Gala,” the press release read.

For fall winter 2025 KNWLS opted to forego a runwa For fall winter 2025 KNWLS opted to forego a runway show and present their collection in a styled lookbook.

Taking inspiration from a feminine Y2K aesthetic, the collection embodies designers Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault’s ability to balance sexy and cool.

In an interview with Vogue, the pair shared that they are currently working on a new design director role in Europe and have several other projects in the pipeline, including another denim project, a collaboration with a jewelry brand, and a menswear capsule for an e-commerce site.

Commenting on the lookbook styling, they shared, "Obviously in the lookbooks it's styled in a quite extreme way, but if you break it down into individual pieces, we've been thinking about merchandising and the customer more than ever before," said Arsenault. "We've seen the team in the studio wearing the pieces differently too, and we've taken that into account. It's a nice challenge to say: 'Okay, we want to make a sweatshirt, but it still has this silhouette or wash or rib detail that makes it feel really Knwls."
