Is there’s a word to describe DJ and producer Peggy Gou‘s style it’s ease. She can go from a sweatsuit and sneakers while traveling between gigs in a private to flexing fresh-off-the-runway looks paired with statement accessories (her luxury label bag collection is legion and is heavy on quilted Chanel bags. Always on the move whether when performing or traveling to over 100 gigs per year, the Korean-born Gou’s outfit choices convey freedom of flow. As such you won’t often catch her in sky-high heels (her sneaker brand of choice tends to be Nike) or an overly tight or layered outfit that restricts her movement.

Unique in comparison to most female music creatives, Gou gets streetwear. She knows the brands and the pieces that matter and sports them. Encouraged by Virgil Abloh, in 2019 she launched her own label, Kirin, established as part of New Guards Group‘s stable of streetwear brands. While the label appears to be on pause, Gou continues to collaborate and produce merch through her Peggy Goods platform. Demand for her limited edition t-shirts and other items has been so high that the brand recently warned fans to beware of counterfeit merchandise.

For summer ’23, Gou was spotted in labels including Dolce & Gabbana, Blumarine, Balenciaga, Vivienne Westwood, Dion Lee, Drake and Nike’s Nocta label, along with Nike sneakers made in collaboration with Ambush and Martine Rose.

That was never our priority, we worked to build the company."

Oozing of a certain cool, the brand is beloved by many fashion creatives, as Vogue noted attendees included Ferragamo’s Maximilian Davis, Gucci’s Sabato De Sarno, Jerry Lorenzo, Moncler CEO Remo Ruffini and DSquared designers Dean and Dan Caten, to name a few.
